JamberryBruce Degen

Amazon.com Review Hat and boot in hand, a boy and a bear set off on a delicious and raucous romp through Berryland. They frolic in strawberry fields forever, rumble and ramble in blackberry brambles, and topple their canoeberry with blueberries. Silly rhymes and a musical beat practically beg to be read aloud, preferably accompanied by dancing. New readers will giggle as they follow the fruit-frenzied pals on their berry adventures. Jamberry builds quickly in intensity and complexity, starting with "One berry, Two berry, Pick me a blueberry," and working up to "Raspberry, Jazzberry, Razzmatazzberry, Berryband, Merryband, Jamming in Berryland." Children will love discovering the subtle touches in Bruce Degen's illustrations: a frog climbing out of a hat, crackers and butter instead of lily pads, and a sign by the raspberry skating rink imploring skaters not to pick the jelly rolls planted nearby. Every character seems giddy with well-fed joy in this veritable jamboree of flavorful fun. Jamberry is a book best enjoyed on a gloomy day with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. (Baby to Preschool) --Emilie Coulter Read more Review "Berries and jam are roundly celebrated in a lilting text that, coupled with the jaunty colored pictures, make it hard to resist thinking about one of summer's lusher treats. . . . A good pick for sharing one-on-one, or fun to read aloud as a poetry introduction."--"BL." Read more See all Editorial Reviews

Jamberry by Bruce Degen is My mother read this book to me and my brothers when we were kids but we had it in a paperback version. We all loved this book. The colors are bright and it has gorgeous illustrations. The whole book rhymes and it’s a little silly but that’s what we loved about this book as children. I have purchased this book for my own 3 children and they love it as well. It’s a great book that I highly recommend to anyone with small children. Also, to anyone who might be wondering like I was, this board book does have all the pages. I was worried it’d be a shorter version of the original book.

Jamberry by Bruce Degen is I received this as a birthday present from my kindergarten teacher in 1990 and it has been my favorite children's book ever since. When our friends all began having babies I was surprised to learn no one had read or even heard of Jamberry. It is now my go-to baby shower book gift and I am pleased to see more stores displaying it on their shelves. Beautiful pictures and fun rhymes abound in the berry love story featuring a bear and a boy.

Jamberry by Bruce Degen is My kids loved this book when they were little. It's been about 4 years since I've read this on a daily basis but I could still easily recite it to you, that's how often I read it!! The words are great, the rhyme of the story is wonderful, pictures correlate nicely! My kids are still younger but I have already bought them each one of these books and it is safely tucked away for when they (may) have kids of their own because the copy we have had fallen apart from such use!

Jamberry by Bruce Degen is I LOVE THIS BOOK!! This book was captured my daughter's attention even in infancy and she still loves it as a 1.5 year old. It's an easy book to read in terms of few words for each page. It's a sing-song type of book so we sing it sometimes and read it others. The colors on the pages are great. The berry waterfall is my little one's favorite page. I've purchased it as a baby gift and I will continue to. Just a great book!!
